ABOUT CHILLICOTHE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

Mission Statement for CHS Alumni Association
Our mission is to encourage and sustain a spirit of fellowship among alumni and friends of Chillicothe High School. We will accomplish this by providing activities, communication and involvement.

Vision Statement for CHS Alumni Association
We will increase and support involvement of alumni. This will include career sharing experiences with students in conjunction with school staff; establish and develop satellite alumni chapters; increase the number of active paid members.

Accomplishment of Chillicothe Alumni Association through December 2005:

  • 1988 Chillicothe Education Foundation organized CHS Alumni Association as a standing committee of CEF.
  • Successfully completed three All Class Reunions 1991, 1996, 2000.
  • Successfully completed fourth All Class Reunion for July 4, 2003 along with Ross County Schools.
  • Published thirty one editions of Mid the Hills, the alumni newsletter.
  • Inducted twenty five members as Distinguished Alumni at All Class Reunion.
  • Sponsored an alumni homecoming dance in 1988 and 1997.
  • Sponsored four luncheons to provide teachers and the business community an opportunity to meet and exchange information.
  • Purchased equipment carts for the CHS Band.
  • 1991 Adopted the CHS Library/Information Center as its Number One project and raised more than $1 million to complete, dedicated Sept 1997.
  • TV Media center at CHS Alumni Library helped purchase equipment.
  • 1999 Launched Terrace project to build community gathering place. Brick sales support curriculum projects at CHS. For a contribution of $75 your name and class date will be engraved on a 4” by 8” brick; for $250 donation engraving on a paver 8” by 8”; and for $1800 you, your class, your family or your business can select a bench engraved or a tree with a tag engraved.
  • 2005 Terrace renamed to Plaza and relocated in front of New High School. Be sure your class and your place in Chillicothe High School’s history are preserved in the Alumni Plaza.
