NEWS AND ITEMS OF INTEREST

Class of 1942 meets for lunch on the first Wednesday of February, May, August and November at the Red Lobster, at 11:30 am. Contact Anna Stout at (740) 775-3636 if you wish to participate.

On Saturday, June 19, 2010 the CHS Class of 1945 gathered for an informal luncheon at the Bell Tower Mission marking 65th year since graduation. 110 members made up our class at graduation. Five of our classmates were called to service at age 18 and did not graduate with us:

Floyd "Bud" Benson - Army 2/14/1945;;
Ira Donald Ellifritt - Army 11/18/1944:
Mace Magbee - coast Guard 1/12/1944;
Elliott Hodgdon - Navy 1/20/1945;
George Cook - Navy 2/17/1945.
One of us, Howard Foor - USMC, was killed in the fall of 1950 in Korea.

There were 10 members and 8 guests attending. Mace Magbee, from California, traveled the furthest. Others came from KY, TN, and FL.

The rest were from the Chillicothe area. We all had a great time visiting, socializing, and reminiscing. We were the entertainment. Plans are to have another "reunion" June 11, 2011 at the Bell Tower Mission in Bourneville, OH. Submitted by Lucille Merrill
Class of 1951 is trying to locate the following classmates for the 60th class reunion in 2011. Gloria Sands, Mary Moss, Jim Pitts, Virginia Wood, Louise Barnett, Lou Bolin, Sue Bolin, Lucille James, Joann Davis, Leon Justice, Ted Arledge, and Bob Adams. Class of 1958 is planning a 70th birthday party for members including dinner, 50's music, and a birthday cake. The date is September 18, 2010 at the Scioto Township Hall at 164 Watt St. in Chillicothe. The time is 6:00PM until 12:00AM and the dress is casual. Bring pictures to share and enjoy the memories of years gone by. Thanks to the bake sale, yard sale, and Pete's "Poker Game" the event will be free!! Enough money was raised to cover the expenses. Class of 1995 is planning a 15 year reunion on July 24, 2010 at the Dock On Water at 7:00PM. Charges are $15 for singles and $25 for couples. The class is trying to build a fund for the 20 year reunion. Send your checks to Pam Nichols C/O of Nicole Ramsey, 434 Roberta Lane, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
Members and guests of CHS Classes 1946 through 1952 are invited to a fish fry on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at Great Seal State Park, Marietta Road. Lunch of fried fish, ham, potato salad, baked beans, potato chips, tea and lemonade will be served. The cost is $10 per person. Reservations and a check are to be mailed to your class representative by Sept. 11.
